my ds is 16 months old and i would like to drop...

my ds is 16 months old and i would like to drop his nightlyfeed its the last one to go. He feeds himself to sleep normally,i know this is bad but he has always done it but now i am scared if i drop the feed he wont ever go to sleep and how do i get him to learn to settle by himself help me please any advice would be appreciated
